I really enjoy working alongside clients to create truly unique and timeless pieces of jewellery. Weather you would like to commission a bespoke engagement ring, reimagine a family heirloom, or adapt one of my designs, starting the bespoke journey is not as daunting as it may seem.

One of the nicest things about a bespoke piece is not only knowing who made it but the added connection of being part of the process yourself.

Wherever you are in the world, I can work with you each step of the way to realising a one of a kind design that truly represents your personality and style.

Every bespoke commission is different which is why we love them, but here is a quick timeline of what to expect. Before we begin, its important to have a clear idea of budget, so I can advise you on the materials and techniques used to achieve the best results.

Inspiration

The bespoke process usually starts with a chat either by phone or via email, so I can get a feel for what you would like. It is great to see any images or reference points you may have, though at this stage its not necessary to have a clear design in mind.
If you would like to know more before contacting us here are some useful guides to get you started.

A guide to understanding diamonds.
A guide to precious metals.

And for some ideas of whats possible you can view a selection of past bespoke designs

The design process

Once we know the design direction, I can begin to work on a selection of ideas, these sketches will be emailed to you, and we can arrange a consultation either in person, or via phone, Skype or by email to discuss the designs in more detail, this is also a great opportunity to view stones or metals we have sourced for your design. From your feedback the designs will be refined, until two final designs will be created for you to choose from. Once a design has been selected we require a 50% deposit to enable us to start making your piece.

Making

As befits a bespoke process everything is made using traditional techniques. Progress shots will be sent from the bench, to keep you updated on how your jewellery is taking shape.
Keep in mind that a bespoke piece takes a long time to make, depending on the complexity of a design between 5-10 weeks. It is always best to err on the side of caution so contact us as early as possible and keep in mind that at busy times of the year we will be working on multiple commissions at once so turnaround times may be longer

Once the piece is finished we will send photos for your approval. You can collect your jewellery in person, or it can be packaged and posted via a secure delivery service.
